My new shop truck
sold the Freightliner, and the money I made on that, paid for the Kenworth. The Kenworth sold for 20, and that paid for this one. I sold the Ford also, and that covered the total rebuild of the pete. So with tools, it is worth over $200,000. And it is getting better all the time. I have the complete engine inframe to do yet, and I have the new paint, and a bunch of hot rod parts here, ready to go on.

I am just too busy to have the block of time needed to do the work.

So...the build continues. It's not done yet but it is operational. Below is the link to some photos of it.

Well....I didn't get to make THAT decision. The engine failed, operationally, not catastrophically, and the inframe ended up being 27 thousand. Then I painted it, put a new rad, a new charge air cooler, fuel pump, turbocharger, 18 speed transmission, and stereo in it. That all added up to another 20....but I traded another truck I had, for most of the parts.

Either way, a 1987 Pete 359 in top shape, sells for over $100,000 in the US. I don't plan on selling, but have some more refinements to make before I am satisfied with it. And you can NEVER have TOO much power.

And power is expensive.

Well...NOW it is running GOOD! New turbo and tweaked the pump, and it pulls like a locomotive!
